New Sewing Project
Sister Watson and her husband work with the MTC's in our Area. They also served at the Provo MTC for many years. In Provo she learned about these modest 'mini cammies' to help Sister Missionaries be modest. She brought some already sewn with her, and we had a fun afternoon sewing on buttons. I am wearing a white one.
Here is a black one - when it is hot is is nice to have coverage without wearing a whole camisole, or two shirts. The MTC's asked for more so she had the pattern sent to her and gave it to me to cut some out.
Here is the fabric laid out and cut to measure - ready for sewing.,
Sister Watson went with me to the fabric store and found the right fabric. We also found the right size and color of elastic. The elastic goes around the bra strap and then buttons. It is easy to zig zag the sides - but time consuming to sew the buttons! It's a good project that helps the sister missionaries as they go forth to serve! We don't have any young sisters in our Johannesburg Mission, but they come to the MTC and then go to their assigned places in other African Countries.
