More Fun Times!
Our office space is near the kitchen and temple patron housing. We get to see the groups who come from out of country to the temple. This young man in the blue suit was hanging around the lunchroom for about 40 minutes - then I noticed him with the shorter missionary from Madagascar. I asked him if he had been waiting for the van from the airport - he said yes. Then he introduced me to this missionary - and said: "I was a missionary in Madagascar - I taught and baptized this elder and now he is on a mission!" How great is that?
Cute Elder Smith vacuuming the chapel in Kwa-thema. July is our month to clean - I think we have all the 5 Saturdays months!! We enjoy driving out there on Saturday morning when we don't have senior mission activities.
This young couple came to the office and asked if we could print his completion Certificate for finishing Pathway. Of course - we love doing that! We can print on card stock and laminate! Missionaries aren't supposed to hold babies - so I gave this dear little girl a hug while her mother held her! Elder Smith mentioned the happy smiles when he handed him the certificate! A years hard work!
Here are a few of the senior sisters helping tie the quilt for Elder and Sister Dube - Elder Smith always helps me get the boards ready and the quilt pinned to them - sure love these ladies!!More came as the hour went on - love them all!
Sister Goodson - thanks to Lindsey we had matching blue rickrack for the edge!
This is another top that I bought - it is fun to make a quilt when someone else does the whole top in pretty African fabrics!!
Elder and Sister Perkins had 4 of their 5 children come visit for 10 days. This is the youngest daughter, her husband had translation work to do here so they came a week early. Her Dad is at her left - on her right Elder Humbert and Elder Walston - all three were her bishop at some point in her life! In Indiana!!
This is Todd Perkins - his family lives in Hyrum in the same ward as Kate and Ben! He brought a package to us from Kate - yay! They had a great time at the game preserves, Cape Town, Victoria Falls and the elephant, monkey and cheetah places. I was happy that we could help out with his gift to take home to his wife. Sure love kind people in this world!!
More of the Perkins Children meeting other missionaries at the office building.
Also in the package Kate sent was this pretty handkerchief Anna brought me from Florence, Italy! I will treasure it! She sent Grandpa a fridge door magnet of Paris - cute too!
