Maddie's Baby Shower - Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023

 

Kurt and Emily and children came to Utah the last of September. They had a wedding on Emily's side of the family, Kurt, took Harold and his boys to the BYU Home Football game on Friday, Sept. 29th. Maddie had a baby shower on Saturday, the 30th  and they planned on going to General Conference Sunday, October 1st. Quite the weekend!! Here are all the beautiful Smith Women, including in utero, Clementine Jo Romberg! 
Maddie and Dane opening some of the wonderful presents that they received for their little girl.  Maddie put up some things she wanted/needed on line and our side of the family bought them a rocking chair!  Now when she rocks the baby she can remember us!!  

Cousins Sadie Fairbanks and Faye Smith - cousins are special friends!!

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Area Office

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Little lizard on the post of the steps into the office!   Part of the Office buildings - underground parking door in the middle of the picture. The door to our department. Desk in front is Elder Smith's - mine just behind it.  Further on is the Humanitarian couple's office. Interesting poster in another hallway.

Our Self Reliance Office

  Brother Philip showing Elder Smith some of the places we have Pathway students.  He has traveled extensively all over the world. He is really a wonderful manager - his office is right next to ours.  This is a poster we have been working on - the senior couples will take it to their individual chapels this weekend and ask the Bishop/Branch President if they can post it on the bulletin board...hopefully! Elder Smith hard at work! Copy machine in the background - Display behind it...for projects. Sister Smith hardly working!!   Both of our desks - it is nice to be working on this mission together.
