Elder and Sister Goodson and the St. George Temple Openhouse

 

Laurel Leavitt, dear friend from North Hills, CA  - we stayed overnight at her lovely home so we could attend the remodeled St. George Temple openhouse on Monday, Sept. 18th.  
The Temple was gorgeous!  Very bright colors and patterns in curtains and carpets ... loved it! 
Mike and Debbie Goodson - they served as Auditors in the Africa South Area.  They served their first mission in Australia - and did a BYU Pathway gathering group!  He is the one who did the Queen Ester Come Follow Me - so much fun.  We went on a couple of Senior Outings with them - delightful saints!  

Elder Goodson is a talented musician.  We found a $35.00 guitar at a pawn shop and bought it for him to lead the sing=a=long at our June Marriage Senior Dinner.  This is his music room at his house in Washington, Utah.  He sang us a 'farewell song' when we left Johannesburg.

Area Office

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Great granddaughter Clementine Jo Romberg - born December 29, 2023

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Our Self Reliance Office

  Brother Philip showing Elder Smith some of the places we have Pathway students.  He has traveled extensively all over the world. He is really a wonderful manager - his office is right next to ours.  This is a poster we have been working on - the senior couples will take it to their individual chapels this weekend and ask the Bishop/Branch President if they can post it on the bulletin board...hopefully! Elder Smith hard at work! Copy machine in the background - Display behind it...for projects. Sister Smith hardly working!!   Both of our desks - it is nice to be working on this mission together.
