More May 2023 Events

 


One great thing about living in Bountiful is we are near the Salt Lake Airport!  Maddie and Dane flew to New York and we got to take them to the airport!  Family is the best!

Tait, Zain and Reid Fairbanks playing in our coat closet!  We get to tend them often when Lindsey has PTA President duties!  We love it! 


Lindsey was the coach of Georgia's soccer team.  This is after the last game - which they won! She had a treat and note for each girl.  A few days later one of the mother's called up and told her how much she appreciated what she had said to her daughter.  Her girl is one of the biggest on the team and is just beginning to body shame - Lindsey told her how strong her legs are and how much that helps the team. The mother thanked Linds for telling her that!  

Here is the team picture - it is great to see Georgia doing well and Lindsey coaching all the girls.  Youth sports can be so rewarding - and also stressful!  

Kurt and children drove Christian to Provo for his Mission - MTC.  This is a park in American Fork, where his Aunt Jennifer lives and we had a fun picnic with him to say goodbye.  The church doesn't want anyone to go to the airport - I was sorely tempted but wanted to be obedient!

Area Office

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Little lizard on the post of the steps into the office!   Part of the Office buildings - underground parking door in the middle of the picture. The door to our department. Desk in front is Elder Smith's - mine just behind it.  Further on is the Humanitarian couple's office. Interesting poster in another hallway.

Great granddaughter Clementine Jo Romberg - born December 29, 2023

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Our Self Reliance Office

  Brother Philip showing Elder Smith some of the places we have Pathway students.  He has traveled extensively all over the world. He is really a wonderful manager - his office is right next to ours.  This is a poster we have been working on - the senior couples will take it to their individual chapels this weekend and ask the Bishop/Branch President if they can post it on the bulletin board...hopefully! Elder Smith hard at work! Copy machine in the background - Display behind it...for projects. Sister Smith hardly working!!   Both of our desks - it is nice to be working on this mission together.
