July events 2023

 



Emilee. Talus an Baden came from Wisconsin to Utah for the Fourth of July - her favorite holiday!  Jennie, Jason and children came from Washington also - yay!  Mini family reunion. 


Twenty of the absolute best grandchildren on the planet!!!  Fromm's, Hardy's, Mortensen's, Pike's, Kroeber's and Fairbanks families !!  Eternal love to ALL!!!
Wow - what a mob - and this is just over half of us!  Loved our mini reunion, love any and all time spent with these wonderful people! 


We love living near the Fairbanks - the kids come down and visit all the time - maybe because we give them ice cream!  and cookies!  

Millie won a sewing kit at one of their Fairbanks family parties.  She asked me to help her learn to sew it - I was delighted to do just that!

Dan put cement in the part of old grass in front of their house - Brother Lorenzo, next door neighbor, helped him.  It will be great to not have dirt right outside the front door!! 
Family soccer game in the front yard - we are so happy the Fairbanks like to share their house and yard.

Georgia and Millie tying as baby quilt.  We made them for each new baby born in the ward.  The girls help me deliver them and everyone likes them!  

Stefan enjoying the old people lift!  Kacey at the top of the stairs laughing at him! Fun visit from Fromms - they sold their house in Hawaii and moved to Wenatchee, Washington.

Area Office

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Little lizard on the post of the steps into the office!   Part of the Office buildings - underground parking door in the middle of the picture. The door to our department. Desk in front is Elder Smith's - mine just behind it.  Further on is the Humanitarian couple's office. Interesting poster in another hallway.

Great granddaughter Clementine Jo Romberg - born December 29, 2023

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Our Self Reliance Office

  Brother Philip showing Elder Smith some of the places we have Pathway students.  He has traveled extensively all over the world. He is really a wonderful manager - his office is right next to ours.  This is a poster we have been working on - the senior couples will take it to their individual chapels this weekend and ask the Bishop/Branch President if they can post it on the bulletin board...hopefully! Elder Smith hard at work! Copy machine in the background - Display behind it...for projects. Sister Smith hardly working!!   Both of our desks - it is nice to be working on this mission together.
