Succulent Plants Fair at the Mall

 

The Killarney Mall is right across the street from our apartment house.  There are many shops, a Post Net store to mail packages, grocers, restaurants, tailer and dry cleaners, etc. We walk over to shop for groceries - they let you bring the grocery cart (trolly) back and leave it in the halls. We only do that when we have really heavy bags to walk up to the second floor.  Last week they had a Succulent Fair.
In front of most stores there were tables of all kinds of succulent plants.  It was fun to see and lasted three days!

We were a little surprised at the cactus!  There are deserts around here! 

Many people were walking around the mall with their plants in their hands! The blooming ones smelled good!  Mother Nature is amazing!!

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Great granddaughter Clementine Jo Romberg - born December 29, 2023

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Our Self Reliance Office

  Brother Philip showing Elder Smith some of the places we have Pathway students.  He has traveled extensively all over the world. He is really a wonderful manager - his office is right next to ours.  This is a poster we have been working on - the senior couples will take it to their individual chapels this weekend and ask the Bishop/Branch President if they can post it on the bulletin board...hopefully! Elder Smith hard at work! Copy machine in the background - Display behind it...for projects. Sister Smith hardly working!!   Both of our desks - it is nice to be working on this mission together.
