More Russians are Coming!

On Wednesday, December 14, another group of Russian missionaries came to Johannesburg.  There were five sisters and five elders and the Europe East Area President Samaykin and his wife.  They were gone mostly to the temple so we didn't get to help them in the Family History Center.

Elder Sarodvorskig, Elder Glukhov, Elder Dementev, and Elder Karpets.  Two of them had served briefly in Novosibirsk just after covid.  Now they all serve in either Moscow or St. Petersburg - they work mostly online and have not had a decline in baptisms!

We came back to the Area Office for a Pathway meeting, since there was not power at our house.  We were just in time to take some pictures as they were leaving to go to the airport.  It is a 15 hour flight to Moscow - and cold!  The sisters are in the gray van, the elders in the while van and Pres. and Sister Samaykin are just getting into the car!
Elders loading their luggage in the van.  It was fun to have patrons in the temple housing units that are near our office!  They eat in our cantina also - there were smaller groups from both Zimbabwe and Mozambique at the same time - almost 60 people!
The cute sisters loading their van - it was so delightful to relate to young sister missionaries again/! Our mission doesn't have any -too dangerous -sad.  Two of these sisters are from towns in our old mission - Omsk and Tomask.  Our mission President and wife knew them and the family of another one from Sakhalin - where the Lambs served their first mission.
President and Sister Samaykin...such awesome people.  She gave us a Russian candy bar - yummy!  We are saving it for a Christmas treat!
