Baptism, Treats for FSY, Senior Dinner with the Hoffman's and George A. Smith

Sunday, December 11, Kwa-Thema 2nd Ward baptism.  Missionaries on both ends, Bishop, Mother and her teenage daughter and two younger sons...wonderful family.  The husband and father passed away last year - they look forward to their temple sealing in a year.
Cookies for the treat bags for the 40 youth going to the FSY December 12 - 17 from our ward.
Our kitchen counter assembly line - 2 pieces of vanilla fudge, two pieces of chocolate fudge, one peanut butter bar, one snickerdoodle cookie, one chocolate chip cookie, one almond white chip cookie, one Christmas frosted sugar cookie, one carrot cookie with cream cheese frosting!  All placed in a zip lock bag - yum!  The youth were leaving Monday at 8:00 and traveling two hours to the camp for the week. I wanted to make a goodie bag for them!  They were very appreciative!!
This is a zoom screen  of  Roger and Melanie Hoffman.  They write and perform Church Music.  They are neighbors of our Elder and Sister Watson - who asked them to perform a mini concert for our Senior Christmas dinner.  He wrote 'Consider the Lilies of the Field" - she wrote 'Gethsemane' - they sang both for.  Very lovely and talented - many wonderful stories of how the spirit influences their music.
We brought our Nativity sets to the Senior Dinner to decorate the tables...Sister Fox painted hers! This is the usual side of her painting.
This is the African side!
Lovely ham casserole, green beans, yummy salads and desserts... We enjoy fellowship and food each month in our Senior Dinners.
When we have to do our Friday Gatherings at the Office - we sometimes use the Church History Department.  Last Friday we noticed this poster on the wall - Church Historian Timeline.  I did not know that my Great Great Grandfather - George A. Smith, was church historian for 16 years - 1854 - 1870.
