Dam Jam - Rockport State Park Utah

 

The Annual Dam Jam the second weekend of August was a huge success - even brought some rain to the dry land!  Here are two pretty women with their darling one year old sons - Julie and Silas Smith and Lindsey and Zain Fairbanks - love all!
Same - just wanted to post as many pictures as possible - we were there last year and hope to be next year!  Such a fun, happy, family event!  Thanks so much Hewson family for doing this!!
Two first cousins and Luna - Stan's dog - someone crashed on the stage for a nap!  I hope these two can be friends as they get older.

Polly sent this darling video of Reid, three years old.  He is saying: "You'll be happy if you walk in puddles."  Polly titled it: Reid's philosophy of life!!  Let's all go find some puddles to walk in!!!

Five of our wonderful children - so happy when we can get a few of us together.  There was a video of the beginning of them singing Grandma's Feather Bed - yay!  Love to all!
Look at all those wonderful people we love so much!  I little rain soaked but still wonderful!

Senior Couples Give Thanks!

On Saturday, November 27th, all the senior couples got together for a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner.  So much delicious food and great company!  We made stuffing, deviled eggs and pumpkin cheesecake for our contributions.  Room full of such great senior missionaries!!   Darling Lilly, sleeping on Thanksgiving Day - Sam wanted us to see her cute dress!!   The Mission sewing machine - passed around from senior sister to senior sister - I used it for a week and then it wouldn't work!  We are taking it to a shop for repairs and Elder Smith bought me a new one - Singer basic - Merry Christmas to me! Fun African fabric I found at a local shop - will make great bowl cozies!  We found these cows on the side of the road near our Chapel in Kwa Thema!!  There were these pretty yellow Lily's also on our drive to church.

Area Office

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Little lizard on the post of the steps into the office!   Part of the Office buildings - underground parking door in the middle of the picture. The door to our department. Desk in front is Elder Smith's - mine just behind it.  Further on is the Humanitarian couple's office. Interesting poster in another hallway.

Our Self Reliance Office

  Brother Philip showing Elder Smith some of the places we have Pathway students.  He has traveled extensively all over the world. He is really a wonderful manager - his office is right next to ours.  This is a poster we have been working on - the senior couples will take it to their individual chapels this weekend and ask the Bishop/Branch President if they can post it on the bulletin board...hopefully! Elder Smith hard at work! Copy machine in the background - Display behind it...for projects. Sister Smith hardly working!!   Both of our desks - it is nice to be working on this mission together.
