Janice's Funeral July 2, 2022 and happy items!

Janice, Wayne, Lori and Amy all got Covid in late June - they had all been vaccinated as much as they could be!  Janice was hospitalized and died a week later.  Alan and Robyn stayed with her in the hospital - Wayne was too sick to even visit for a few days.  He got there to tell her goodbye for now. We were able to watch the funeral and loved hearing the stories and goodness of her life. 

They sent us the program online - what a wonderful sister to Tom and Harold, we will see her again.
We liked reading the program - all the children spoke and said nice things - loved the music.
On a much happier note - Sam and Allie will have a new little one in October!!  Lilly will be the best big sister - although she's not too big!!
Heather and Chris and family are finally in their remodeled house!  So much room to play and live! I'm so happy they still have Granny's old yellow velvet chair!

Isaac and Anna met up in the Louvre in Paris! She was on a school trip, he was with his Kroeber grandparents on their choir trip!  So random and wonderful!!!

Area Office

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Great granddaughter Clementine Jo Romberg - born December 29, 2023

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Happenings in South Africa

  There is a big African Trade Market called Irene's about 35 minutes away from Johannesburg.  It is open only twice a month - the first Saturday and last Saturday of each month.  Saturday, July 30, we invited the Candlands to go with us.  We found the Perkins and Watsons there and we all had a great time.  Here is Sister Watson and Elder Perkins enjoying lunch - see that big platter in front?   Elder Smith bought me an African Apron like these - this is the lady who makes them - they are reversible and I like the bright colors!   On our walks in the mornings we have noticed this plant budding and getter ready to bloom - this morning it was blooming!  The picture doesn't do it justice - it is bright orange!   This big Bird of Paradise plant is on the grounds of the first chapel built in Johannesburg.  The flowers are so pretty, and it's fun for us to know Heidi and Stefan have them in Hawaii!  I've sent postcards with...
