Tuesday afternoon game drive

After getting up so early for the morning game ride - we came back and had lunch and took a nap!  Here are three big old bull elephants that came to the watering hole.  They walked around it and headed to the end where a large pipe brings fresh water -that is where they would drink!
Elder Smith taking a marco polo of the oldest one drinking.  You could hear the slurping sound of their trunk sucking in water =-like trying to get the last of your milk shake from the bottom of the cup!  Then they would put the end of their trunk in their mouth and you could hear the water gushing in their stomachs!

Elephant and zebra at the watering hole - while we ate lunch!
A small herd of impala also enjoying some fresh water.
Elephant and waterbuck.  Look closely at the rear end of the waterbuck - our guide told us that they were the first animals on Noah's Ark.  We laughed and he said:  Noah had just painted the toilets white and the waterbuck came on the ark and sat down on them!  They have a white ring around their rear ends!!
More zebras - they walk in a single file line sometimes!
The friendly crocodile still in the pond - view from the breakfast deck!
Our fun guide and all of us - Elder Perkins brought two pair of binoculars - we enjoyed using them.
Here is our Tuesday morning sighting of the Lion  -the female had gone on in front of us before I could get a picture.
The male lion following her - and us following them!
These game reserves are so interesting...makes going to the zoo so tame!  We saw vultures in the trees at one spot and our guide told us an animal had been poached and killed -the animals make use of the meat with the vultures cleaning up.
