New Couples and misc.

I documented my awful hair cut so I thought I'd also do this one - much better just too short!  It will grow, right?  Sister Elggren brough this potted parsley and bag of chocolates and cute card to welcome us to the new apartment house - they live here along with several other senior couples.
We met some of the new couples at a close grill - this is a rib eye steak!  still attached to the rib!!
At work we got a What's app from our ward - Elder Smith said I can't see the profile picture - I'll make it larger - so he did and it was a picture of a cow!!
This is a picture of our Thursday evening Gathering Group - I love the smiles! check out the lower left had side - there are so many happy smiles here!  We are in the upper right hand corner - using our office to have the meeting because the power was out at our apartment.
On the road to Kwa-Thema for church - part of the road has beautiful cosmos flowers for acres on both sides of the road.

Dead butterfly that was in the parking lot of our new apartment building.  It is more 'downtown' than our other building.
Sam and Lilly facetiming!  She was 'talking' so cute!  
March 10th - two new couples came to join us in the mission, one also came the day before.

  Sunday October 31, Elder and Sister Elggren drove us to our assigned ward - the Kwa Thelma 2nd ward.  It was Stake Conference and both wards met together - great talks!  Wonderful to meet the people we will be serving on Sundays.  It is about a 40 minute drive from the city - delightful children. The Temple is right next to the Area Offices - all are in a park like setting - an old estate that the Church purchased. View from behind the temple. Little lizard on the post of the steps into the office!   Part of the Office buildings - underground parking door in the middle of the picture. The door to our department. Desk in front is Elder Smith's - mine just behind it.  Further on is the Humanitarian couple's office. Interesting poster in another hallway.

Great granddaughter Clementine Jo Romberg - born December 29, 2023

Maddie and Dane had their little girl on December 29, 2023.  What a wonderful way to end the year!! Clementine Jo Romberg - 7 pounds, 21 inches - PERFECT! Maddie is wonder woman - she had the baby at home!  With a midwifes' help!  Yikes!!  She's tired. Beautiful - just from Heaven!!  Emily came over from Denver to be with them a week.  Then Kurt drove the rest over to pick her up and meet darling Clementine!

Late December Events - 2023

 December 26, 2023 was Stan's 50th Birthday!  We celebrated with a Memory Book that all the siblings wrote a memory of Stan - plus pictures of his 'wonderful life'!! It was fun to go back and remember such happy times - and a few sad ones!  Happy Birthday Stanford Harold Smith - you have blessed our lives. Valentine Box - train engine! New Franken, Wisconsin Love all these Valentines!!! On December 26, Lindsey and I got to hold three day old twins!  The Kocherhans moved into the ward last fall - he actually served as a young missionary with is in Jamaica 2012!  They have an 16 month old daughter and now a newborn boy and girl!!  So precious from Heaven.  Olivia and I are her ministering sisters and she is getting meals from the ward and one hour of help each afternoon - so she can take a shower!!   Tait, Reid and Zain Fairbanks got this sweet electric car from Santa Claus - they love it so much!  Cute Boys! New Year's Eve for Old People!...
