Around the Mission
Our Senior Couples monthly potluck was a barbeque (Braai in South Africa) on the back yard of the White House. This is the sun setting behind the Area Office Building. The White House is where the Area Presidency lives. It is a beautiful old house and the back yard is amazing.
These are the cream puffs and chocolate eclairs that I brought to the party ...some ended up cream flats not too puffed! All said they tasted good!
Elder Smith in his Dam Jam hat and the rest of the senior couples - fun barbeque!
White house rose gardens - I like yellow roses!
The fountain in the middle of the yard ... I can't look at it but I think of my grandchildren playing in the water! Notice the Haughty bird in front!
More roses - these are pink - fountain and back hedge also in the picture.
The patio with cover in case of rain. On the left is a big grill where Elder and Sister Parrish grilled hamburgers for all. The blue cooler held ice and drinks. The food was on the tables under the cover also.
Fun party! The Parrish left the next week!
Elder and Sister Walston, they have been here for two weeks now. They are assigned the Mayfield Branch - this was their first Sunday and they are with several of the Young Women of the Branch.
Here are the Walstons with the two missionaries that serve in Mayfield - about an hour away from Johannesburg. It's great to get new couples to take the place of those departing!
