New Year Happenings!
Here is a picture of our Friday morning Pathway 'Gathering'. We meet the whole class on a zoom call - well 18 of 27 came. There was some tech issues but things went very well all things considered. Our first 'Gathering' for the week is on Thursday's at 8:00pm. There were 19 of 30 that made it there. We had some tech issues then also - Elder Smith and I were waiting in our zoom room, and then we got a phone call that all the class was waiting in another room! Yikes!
These students are amazing! We have ages from 19 to 66! All are very excited to further their education and Pathway is just the thing for them. The dear sister who is 66 is so cute. She took out her savings and bought a computer and one of the young men in the class is helping her to learn how to use it. He told her to log in and find the Student Portal on BYUPathway.org. She did it and then asks what now? He said click the 'start' button!! We love all of them already!!
My Christmas fabric made into a lap quilt for our bed!
We usually make the bed a letter better - I didn't noticed that Elder Smith had taken a nap before I took the picture!! Looks nice doesn't it?
We got boards from the lumber (timber) store and clamps - used the chairs for corners - it wasn't the best but it worked!!
At the Area Office we have these safety stations. I think it is fun that they have the hats and vests to put on before taking care of the emergency!!
On one of our morning walks we found this driveway with a tree right in the middle of it! Maybe the father wanted the teenage drivers to really pay attention! No cars were in the garage so maybe they don't use it much - we thought it was funny! There was a large enough hole in the fence so I could take the picture...not newspaper thrown through the same hole and waiting on the driveway.
This tree had blooms that looked like puff balls! Wires in the picture are from the electric fence above the stone one.
Same tree a little bit further away.
We found this quote on some old Pathway papers - love it and Elder Holland!! Pathway began in South Africa in 2013. In 2019 there were 383 students ... today we have 1329 ... three times more in 3 years! Isn't that exciting? We are blessed to be a very small part of it all. Most senior missionaries that help with Pathway live in the US - some getting up at 1:00 am to host the Gathering for their class.
