More Pilanesberg Fun

The Perkins had Room #4, and we had Room (Lodge) #5.  Huge key attached to a 'torch' - flashlight! Each 'room' was a separate lodge with it's own privacy path leading up to it.
The huge king sized bed.
Couch and front patio - the clerk said sometimes elephants will come within a couple meters of the fence outside of the lodge porches..none did!
Bathroom with big tub and both indoor and outdoor showers!

Our table for lunch was at the edge of the deck.  We noticed two weaver bird nests just above us in the tree - see the tear drop dark things?  Weaver bird nests.  Notice the small branch sticking up above the smaller nest?  A male bird used that to begin building his nest - while we watched!
The next day at breakfast we noticed this bird entering it's nest.
Our last day there - you can see the progress on the new nest - see the circle on the end of the branch?  The bird was so interesting to watch - he would fly down and then come back with a long piece of grass.  We watched as he wove it into the circle with his beak! amazing.
Elder Smith and a strange cactus plant.  So many that we didn't know and our guide told us about them.
The main fireplace in the big lodge - real elephant tusks.

I liked the small Christmas tree near the fireplace.  They use it in the winter chill but we are in summer now.
