Familiar flowers in Johannesburg

We have been walking different routes in the morning - and finding wonderful things every day!  This old stump has a plant growing on it - persistence!
Pretty flower - reminded us of Sego Lily's in the west.
So much green and flowers everywhere!
We found this whole half block of flowers!  some that we recognized! Nasturtiums - see them at the left, spilling out over the curb? My Grandma Poole always had them in her garden and I love her and them!
Hydrangeas for Lindsey!  She had them at her and Dan's wedding reception - so pretty and fun to recognize some of the flowers here.
More pretty yellow daisy's - we have also seen Shasta daisy's - the white ones.
Hollyhocks!  We made dolls out of these with toothpicks when we were little girls - and I've taught a few granddaughters to make them! Pioneer flower to me - or just old fashioned!
Pretty colors - so many flowers to view and enjoy.
Pansies!  The other flower dear Grandma Poole always had, and my Mother!
See how the roots of this tree have disturbed the brick sidewalk?  Mother Nature is strong!!
